A task in your day

Practical help setting up AI tools for your work

I help you choose an AI tool, set it up for a useful task and practise with work you recognise. The aim is a repeatable way to use it, with someone you can ask when the tools change or an answer does not look right.

Bring the task before choosing the subscription

You may already pay for an AI tool without using it regularly. Before recommending another one, I look at what you wanted it to help with. Preparing a client email, finding information in documents and planning tomorrow's work can need different arrangements.

We select one task with a clear starting point and a result you can assess. That makes it easier to see whether the tool is useful and where you still need to apply judgement.

Practise with examples from your own work

A useful session includes trying the task, checking the answer and making it better. I explain how to provide context, ask for the format you need and recognise when the tool is filling a gap with a guess.

  • Use examples you are permitted to share with the chosen tool.
  • Create a repeatable starting prompt or working document.
  • Keep a short checklist for reviewing the result before using it.

Keep your setup useful as the tools change

The right starting point may be ChatGPT, Claude or another tool. I check the current capabilities and account requirements while scoping the work. You see any software or usage costs before agreeing to them.

After setup, an advisory relationship gives you a place to bring questions and ideas. I test promising changes and recommend those that fit your work. A new capability is scoped separately so it does not quietly expand the original project.

Illustrative example

Example first project: drafting a recurring client update

An illustrative first session uses an update you already prepare regularly, with approved examples of the tone and structure you want.

  1. Choose a permitted sample and identify what a useful draft must contain.
  2. Set up a repeatable way to provide the facts and request the right format.
  3. Practise checking the draft for unsupported claims, missing details and tone.

What we would agree first: You check the facts and approve the message. A polished answer is not evidence that the information is correct.

Questions you may have

Can you help if I already use ChatGPT or Claude?

Yes. We can start with your existing tool and the task you have struggled to make repeatable. A new subscription is only proposed when there is a reason for it.

Is this a generic AI course?

The work is centred on your tasks and setup. We agree what you want to be able to do, practise it together and leave you with a usable starting point.

Can my team take part?

Yes, when the scope includes a team. We agree the shared task, the participants and who will review the outputs before arranging the sessions.
